FDFF Challenge: NUMB3RS!

Hi again friends and followers! I am here today to share my take on our new challenge over at Frosted Designs! This one was relatively simple, and I was able to put this layout together pretty quickly once I came up with a way to use 'numbers'. Our winner this time gets a lovely prize from Molossi! Also don't forget there are bragging rights for the DT picks for Top 3! I hope you will join us!

For this layout, I wanted the photos to do most of the talking, so I didn't do as much journaling as I normally would. I was originally going to cut each photo apart on the paper once I matted them but I liked to composition of them altogether so I decided to go with it! Once I had them in place, it was easy to place a few other elements around the page to tie it altogether. Here are some pics:

If you can't tell.. I am totally ADDICTED to wood veneer embellishments now. I have bought the travel set, states set, and cameras set from Studio Calico and have more on the way from the new FD shop! I really like them just plain cause they go with any color scheme but also it would be really easy to alter them to any color with mist, paint, ink, etc. That's the best part! I used several little cars and cameras on this page, I didn't want to add flowers or anything cause I felt like it would take away from the geometric look I had going on for the layout. I also added some mini pearls and a few dots of Stickles in Patina. Here is a close up of near the bottom of the page.

For the title, I used 2 different Thickers from the Amy Tangerine collection. The paper is also Basic Grey 'clippings' and the license plate numbers are Tim Holtz. I also stapled a bit, stamped, and hand wrote some things around my photos.

Well that's about it for today! This layout was simple to put together once I had my idea...took me alot less time that one normally would. It was fun to think about how long it took us to drive all the way from Alabama to Oregon this summer! So many memories that I wouldn't trade for anything in the world with my sis! I still have lots of photos from the trip and I will be scrapping alot more of them since I have them all printed up now. Thanks for stopping by, I always really appreciate your comments, they make my day!

Don't forget to link up your project to the Frosted Designs blog no later than Sept 5th to be entered to win the prize and the DT picks for Top 3! Good luck, can't wait to see what you create!!! ;) until next time scrappy friends~VV

everything's new**

WARNING: PHOTO-HEAVY POST AHEAD!

Hi friends! It feels like I have been ignoring blog land lately, well I haven't done it on purpose it's just I've been kinda busy. I just moved 2,800 miles from Mobile, Alabama to Portland, Oregon! The journey is finally over, all that's left to do is finish setting up our house and get settled in with new furniture, decor, new projects I want to make until this place is just how I want it. It's going to take alot of work, but it's exciting all at the same time- a new city to explore, new surroundings, a new job (with the same company) everything is new! When we first got here last Sunday, I had a few mini breakdowns. I was so overwhelmed at the amount of stuff to be done and stuff to buy, now I am feeling a little better about it since our out of town guests are gone. I have 3 days to get some more projects done until I go back to work. It has really been an experience driving across the country and getting to see the USA from the road! It was a fun trip. So I don't have any fun crafty stuff to share today, but I do have LOTS of good pictures I took from the road..me and my sis in my loaded down little Toyota with my kitty cat driving the whole way! So I hope you enjoy these...you will be seeing these very soon in my projects, I plan on making a 'ROAD TRIP' album as soon as i can get my studio set up and these babies printed, but for now ENJOY :) They are kind of out of order!

What in the world would we do without instagram? Right? I was already addicted but since this trip I've pretty much decided I will probably only scrap instagrams from now on...for one they are the perfect size and for 2 you get to edit and share them immediately! If you are a blog follower, I would love if you'd follow me on instagram @khhollister

Until next time Y'all~ VV
