Challenge #1: Fabulous Friday Challenge, Recipe Challenge
So here it goes, the first LO I did a while back, but it fit perfectly with the 'recipe challenge' over at Frosted Designs These were the rules for the recipe challenge! A recipe challenge simply means that we give you a list of things and you need to include them in your card, layout or project! Here are the items we are challenging you to use....
I highlighted the ones I used:
2. Ribbon or lace
3. Chipboard
4. Flowers
5. Misting or inks
6. Buttons
7. Stickers
8. Rub ons
YOU NEED TO USE 4 ITEMS FROM THE LIST!
Here is what I came up with: The title is 'Whoo Whoo Whoo's Cute?' They are pictures of my step mom, step bro, niece and nephew from Thanksgiving 2010. All I had to do to this layout was finish some journaling on it and add some more stickles for sparkle! I really like the colors I used and I also really like the colored staples I used on the ends of the ribbon. Also, OWLS are like my FAVORITE thing for fall so there are lots of those. Some of them are stickers that I put on paper and used pop dots on, and the one at the bottom is a recollections embellishment i think. Also the pics in this were taken from some ones I stole from facebook, so the coloring is kinda different in the pics too.
Here is a close up of one of the little Owls. LOVE him and his cute tree :)
And another Owl peeking out from behind his tree that I put some bling on.
This is the owl embellishment sticker I added to a handmade journaling block.
And another shot of the whole LO...so you can see the cute title that I did in mostly stickles, with a few fall leaf rub ons in the middles of the O's. So I will be submitting this tonite , and I hope I win, because I am pretty sure it's a FABULOUS prize...something tells me it might be the October Layout kit from Artful Delight I've been drooling over, but that may be the other challenge...
so many over there getting confused!
Challenge #2 : Sketch Along Tuesdays Challenge,Sketch #25
Here is the Sketch, by the fabulous Ms.Debbie Burns, Monthly DT Guest for Frosted Designs
This is what I came up with for this sketch, first I just want to say that I LOVE LOVE this picture of my little niece, Zoe Blythe, and it really inspired me tonite to use colors from the picture for part of the layout. This is her FIRST appearance on my blog! I just though the sketch was just so fabulous that I had to do something really girly to go along with it..which I don't always get to do since I don't have kids yet! LOL so here it is:
Here is a close up of part of the title: I also stitched some fibers in and around the stitches that were printed on the patterned paper. Super super cute!!
Close up of the flowers I used, Prima flowers, also a felt one with bling, and layered flower with a fabric button center from K&Company. The stems of the flowers are some fiber that I had in my stash in light green. Also I thought the pearls went really well with the theme of the layout, so I used light pink ones large and small to the flower center and the tag with her name on it.
I am super happy with the way this LO turned out, considering it only took me about 1 hour or so to do it. I will be submitting this over at Frosted Designs tonight. I'm really excited because I plan to enter a few more things this week...and I feel like my creative juices are already flowing!!! I have my 'weekend' in my retail life Tues/Wed this week so expect some more lovely posts and pix :) Until next time my friends~VV
